Jane moved to the Island in 2019. She's lucky enough to live 200 metres from the beach at Bembridge where she often swims in the summer. She's also a soap maker and owner of Soap and Anchor, through which she sells handcrafted soaps made in her home in Bembridge.

The first event in Ryde included speakers from Seaclose Swimming Club, Dr Heather Massey from Portsmouth University, Artist Lucy Bell with her introduction to sketching workshop and Kimberley Jennings with an Introduction to Cold water swimming.
There will be information about swimming clubs, informal groups, supported sessions and other swimming related activities.

Do you ever consider how swimming might affect your health?
Please bring along any questions or information you would like to share.
Come and see photographs by Sian Elizabeth from her ongoing project Cold Water Swimmers, about the positive effects of sea swimming.
Lucy Bell will show a range of her swimming and sea related ceramics and prints.
Jane Darragh of Soap & Anchor will be giving away some samples of her delicious Sea Swimmers Soap.
Gabby Ginn of Island Craftworks will be demonstrating some simple macrame and beach related crafts by the Beach Huts.
For The Love of Swimming is all about collecting stories, sharing information and inspiration.
Our official launch will introduce the podcast, some of the swimmers who feature and why we think it's important to capture their stories.
There will also be the opportunity to share your story and be invited/ propose someone to take part in a future episode of For The Love of Swimming.
